3 to 5 DougCo Qualifies for November 2026 Ballot

The Douglas County Clerk and Recorder has certified the 3 to 5 DougCo

initiative for the November ballot.

Of the 23,040 signatures we submitted, 20,434 were certified valid.

We needed 15,087. That is a validation rate of 88.7%, which is well

above what petitions like this usually see.

That number belongs to you, Douglas County! It came from more than 150 volunteers who stood outside in July heat, and from thousands of neighbors who stopped, asked real questions, and signed because they wanted the choice.

Here is what changes today. The petition phase is over. We are no

longer asking for a signature. We are asking Douglas County to vote yes

in November.

That is a different kind of campaign, and it costs more than the last

one. Signatures were gathered by volunteers with clipboards. Reaching

190,000 households before ballots arrive in October takes mail, digital,

and materials we have to pay for.
