Fox31: Conflict Between 200 and 1A Will Go to Court

The commissioners have already used $52,837 of our tax dollars on legal fees to interfere with the certified citizen-led petition. As citizens, we used donated dollars to tell voters the truth about 200, 201, and 1A.
We fought 1A before the election. We protested it to the commissioners in August, and in September, Rep. Bob Marshall challenged it in court. Without using the words “at large,” 1A proposed to elect all commissioners at large, in direct conflict with the two options in 201. We believe it also conflicts with Colorado law.
In September, the judge ruled that the court could only intervene in ballot questions like 1A after the election, virtually ensuring we would be back in court. We’re working on legal next steps now. And we may need your help finishing the job.
